Alessandra + Kristopher’s English Garden Wedding on the Eastern Shore of Maryland

When I first met with Ally and Kris, they explained their vision for their wedding day was based on their love for blooming gardens and fond memories along the waterfront. The Kent Island Resort was the perfect location to blend the Eastern Shore breeze and their favorite show, Gardener’s World.

Ally and Kris brought this coastal garden feel throughout their day with mismatched tones, textures, and prints in the bridesmaids’ green and blue dresses. A few weeks before their wedding, Ally came to us with the idea to transform their traditional bridesmaid bouquets into bridesmaid baskets. Their incredible florist, Nikki, who also happens to be Ally’s cousin, created sweet baskets full of light blooms which fell effortlessly. Ally’s stunning dress by Marchesa and Kris’ classic tux by Indochino made for a show stopping look as the two would soon become husband and wife.

A stunning floral piece provided the perfect compliment to their waterfront, gazebo ceremony site. While planning, we talked extensively about a warming of the rings during their wedding ceremony which truly came to life as each guest held Ally and Kris’ wedding bands, giving their love and sentiments. As Ally and Kris exchanged vows, there was not a dry eye in sight and every person present could feel their love for one another.

As guests entered into cocktail hour, they found an oyster bar, fun fact cocktail napkins, specialty drinks, and personalized match boxes. As the evening continued on, Ally and Kris wanted to continue the feel of the waterfront and emphasize their English garden inspiration under the pavilion. Their design featured a variation of floral centerpieces, the perfect blue floral napkin from BBJ La Tavola, woven chargers from Pretty Little Wedding Co, and steel blue taper candles. The floral vision truly came to life along their twenty-five foot long head table with a base of dreamy greens, and shades of blue and ivory blooms woven throughout.

Ally and Kris chose to add a personal touch to their reception tables. Instead of assigning numbers to each table, they were marked by the couples’ favorite music albums which had guests beaming! Among the couples’ favorite things were a mobile bar cart from Punk and Boone and blue floral cake from Blue Crab Cupcakes.

Finishing out the evening, dancing was a top priority for the newlyweds as Capital Effect Band began the party. After the new Mrs. changed into her mini dancing dress, we quickly found her with mic in hand leading their loved ones in singing Sweet Home Alabama, and tearing up the dance floor, hand in hand with her new husband!
