Christine + Andrew’s Wedding Along the Wye River

Christine and Andrew met while attending the University of Maryland. After dating for 6 years, they were ready for the wedding of their dreams. Bringing together his background in New York and hers in Maryland, Christine + Andrew decided on a tented, waterfront wedding at Wye River Estate on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. They were married by Father Walsh, their priest at UMD during their time as students, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Stevensville. Surrounded by loved ones, Christine poured her heart into the design of their wedding day, making each guest feel so valued and creating the most stunning reception along the Wye River.

Christine wore a stunning gown with elegant pearl detailing, and her mother’s wedding veil. But the family details don’t stop there, their son, Liam, wore a seersucker set which was the groom’s when he was growing up. Christine’s brother is a graphic designer and lent his skills to his sister in helping her to create all of her signage. Every piece was delicate and luxurious as they added a fine line illustration of the Wye River throughout. Her sister and maid of honor brought all of her siblings’ stunning work together with her calligraphy on these perfect pink envelopes.

Loved ones started to fill the church pews and watch as Christine + Andrew were married by their college priest. In a Nuptial Mass full of joy, Christine + Andrew became one (as Liam just wanted to sit with his mom and dad, resulting in some of the most memorable moments of their day). Their love for one another and the people around them was never more evident!

Cocktail hour began along the Wye River, as guests arrived to a string trio, specialty drinks, and the most beautiful tent along the waters of the Eastern Shore. Christine had such a vision for her reception from the first time I spoke with her, and seeing it truly come to life on their wedding day felt magical. From the stunning greenery pieces, luxurious florals, and soft pillar candles - to the classic menus and thank you cards, everything came together perfectly. As guests entered the reception space, you could truly see their faces light up in awe of all this beauty!

Soon after, guests laughed and cried while hearing about the love that Christine + Andrew hold for one another during toasts. As the evening progressed, the bride and groom had a moment away from the crowd, dancing their way through sunset photos along the river. They returned for the champagne tower Christine had been dreaming of and continued on to dances with their parents, and finally, their first dance as newlyweds! As the dance floor opened to their family and friends, the real party got started! The remainder of the evening was full of confetti, gelato, and cake as guests celebrated the Walshes, dancing along to their favorite songs and spending quality time together. As the sun went down, the tent glowed from the string lights and joy within, the perfect ending to Christine and Andrew’s day along the Wye River.
